Criminals continue their activities in Ibadan with impunity.
This was made possible as a result of the carefree and lackadaisical attitude of the state government to security issues relating to criminals who hide under various guises.
Indeed, there has been an unregulated influx of people from different parts of the country in the past few years which has brought about strange occurrences revolving around criminality.
These criminals are brazen and bold, and commit crime with impunity, since the state government benefits immensely from illegal roadside traders, who are a very good source of revenue for the government.
The law enforcement agencies are not in opposition to the government in this regard.
On Monday, 21 July 2025, a resident of the state capital made a Point of Sale transfer of 10, 200 to the Monie Point Micro Finance Bank Account of one Rose Luke at the wheel balancing workshop a the Mobil Petrol station along the M.KO Abiola way(Ring Road)(Account Number:8255426214-wit Ref:*****72512) at 10:26:25 AM.
Surprisingly, after quickly deleting the transaction alert from her smartphone, she insisted that she did not receive any transaction alert.
Interestingly, the POS machine she displayed was not functioning.
Sadly, state government officials in uniform are on hand to protect the criminals, who are everywhere in the ancient city, including Mokola roundabout, Agodi Gate, Oje, Beere, Idi-Arere, Molete, Challenge, Orita among several others.
Expectedly, the criminals have gone to the extent of trailing, pedestrians who are not vigilant, and eventually robbing them of their personal belongings.
The situation is very disturbing, even though there is supposed to be a government in place
Indeed, the people continue to complain about the poor handling of security matters by the government.

A manipulated Democracy

However, the alteration of the truth brings about disillusionment among the people and the continuous worrisome bloodshed of human lives is reflecting negatively on governance. All governments from time immemorial have been characterized by the twin evils of corruption and embezzlement of public funds. In addition, laws are hurriedly enacted for the preservation of the rot in the system. In dictatorships, the ruling party takes the position of the state, and ensures that the profession of a particular set of political opinions becomes the first qualification for those in the Civil and Public Service, rather than competence and honesty. Quality and Productivity
A statistician, W. Edwards Deming, made use of the principles of variation as proposed by American Mathematician, Walter Shewart in business processes, in relation to quality and productivity in Japan. In recognition of Deming's efforts, the Japanese business community put in place a prestigious annual prize, the Deming prize, for companies that achieve visible advancement in quality. He successfully established the fact that business processes are exposed to deterioration in quality through variation. This has, to a great extent, assisted Japanese industrialists to improve the quality of their products. The quality circle or Deming circle is now known as Total Quality Management(TQM). Te circle comprises a group of workers who seek to improve the processes of production through planning, implementation of the plan, assessment, evaluation and correction.
The Absurd
Lawlessness, indiscipline, criminality, evil, ignorance, idleness, and illiteracy are the basic foundations of terrorism. Presently, the upbringing of young people, strange doctrines, and very abnormal ways of life in several communities in Nigeria speak volumes. Without doubt, the known and unknown conditions for breeding and training the unthinkable and avoidable have been met in communities such as Molusi, Onafuwa Solanke, Oyegbami, Olorunsogo, Molete, Aluko, Felele, and Scout Camp, among several others in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. A very careful observation will unearth the fact that a different strain of terrorism is gradually taking root in this part of Nigeria. Children and young adults now commit crime under the watchful eyes of their parents and guardians, without consequences. The Drift of young people
Most public primary and secondary school students learn in environments that are not encouraging in Nigeria. The facilities have been stretched to obsolete conditions as a result of improper planning by the government at all levels. Considering the dilapidated toilet facilities in several of these schools and the absence of potable and drinkable water, the potential outbreak of an epidemic cannot be ruled out. Teachers are no longer dedicated to duty due to their nightmarish working conditions. Cultism has taken root in most of these schools, while "armed robbers" in school uniforms dot the nooks and crannies of every part of the country.
