Federal Workers in Oyo abandon Comrade Emelieze in detention

Workers of Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies(MDA) in Oyo State have abandoned the detained national coordinator of the Federal Workers Forum(FWF), Comrade Andrew Emelieze, as he continues to languish in detention. The workers, who openly exhibit nonchalance and indifference towards the plight of the detained activist, have overtime benefited from their struggles and activism for better working conditions for workers. In his remarks, the state coordinator of the FWF, Comrade Victor Osungboun, called for the unconditional release of Comrade Emeleize by the secret police. ''The reason for his detention revolves around the protests we staged on 5th May 2025 for the payment of all the outstanding arrears of federal workers.  This is in addition to the protests against hunger and poverty that have become the way of life of workers in the country, Comrade Osungboun lamented. Henri Fayol, a French engineer, salvaged a distressed mining company by turning around its fortunes at the tail end of the 19th century. Fayol separated management tasks into planning, organization, coordination, command and control. He placed emphasis on specialization and the need for each employee to report to only an individual. He died in 1949.

A manipulated Democracy

  Peaceful change and superior honesty are two among the advantages of democracy. However, the alteration of the truth brings about disillusionment among the people and the continuous worrisome bloodshed of human lives is reflecting negatively on governance. All governments from time immemorial have been characterized by the twin evils of corruption and embezzlement of public funds. In addition, laws are hurriedly enacted for the preservation of the rot in the system. A statistician, W. Edwards Deming, made use of the principles of variation as proposed by American Mathematician, Walter Shewart in business processes, in relation to quality and productivity in Japan. In recognition of Deming's efforts, the Japanese business community put in place a prestigious annual prize, the Deming prize, for companies that achieve visible advancement in quality. He successfully established the fact that business processes are exposed to deterioration in quality through variation. This has, to a great extent, assisted Japanese industrialists to improve the quality of their products. The quality circle or Deming circle is now known as Total Quality Management(TQM). Te circle comprises a group of workers who seek to improve the processes of production through planning, implementation of the plan, assessment, evaluation and correction.

  The Federal government has been called upon  to urgently take a second look at the entire  process of recruitment and training of personnel of the various law enforcement and security agencies as a step towards ensuring  that the unbearable level of insecurity across Nigeria is nipped in the bud. This call was made by the National Coordinator for the Federal Workers Forum, Comrade Andrew Emelieze.
